Art-emis Literary & Arts Magazine
~ a tri-annual journal for loud minds ~

Art-emis is an online literary and arts journal that showcases unpublished poetry, short fiction, short creative nonfiction, and art pieces by women, BIPOC, and LGBTQIA+ individuals in the New York Metropolitan Area. We are looking for work that is bold, raw, and off-beat. In short, show us who you are without apology!
Our name, Art-emis, was inspired by the Greek Goddess, Artemis. According to Britannica, her powers revolve around wild animals, vegetation, hunting, chastity, and childbirth. Artemis is also considered to be the protector of young animals. She is typically pictured as a woman with a bow and arrow. To me, Samantha Szumloz, Editor in Chief, Artemis represents rejuvenation, preservation, and power. I hope that our literary magazine mirrors the Artemis in us all.
Our mission is to spotlight writers and artists who are unafraid to be vulnerable and express the most complex sides of themselves.
