Q: What are considered to be “unpublished?” creative works? 

 

A: We consider unpublished creative works to be pieces that have never been published online or in print by other literary journals or zines. This includes pieces posted on social media platforms and websites. 

 

Q: Does Art-emis have content restrictions? 

 

A: We welcome almost all content, no matter how “TMI” it is. With that being said, we do not tolerate pieces that promote racism, bigotry, misogyny, or hatred of any kind. As long as your pieces do not hurt our readers, you are in the clear. 

 

Q: How do I submit to Art-emis? 

 

A: In brief, email all submissions to artemismagazine87@gmail.com. For more information on how to submit, refer to our “How To Submit” page.

Q: Does Art-emis have age restrictions? 

 

A: We prefer that people apply to join our editorial team/submit their work to us when they are 18-years-old or older.  

 

Q: How long will it take for my submission(s) to get a response? 

 

A: We will try and respond to your submissions within 14 days. If we have not responded during the time, feel free to send us a follow up email! 

 

Q: What happens if my piece(s) are not accepted? 

 

A: If your pieces are not accepted for the upcoming issue, you may submit again when the next submission period opens! 

 

Q: How many times can I submit during a submission period?

 

A: Please only submit once during each submission period.   

 

Q: What happens if my piece(s) are accepted? 

 

A: You will receive a congratulatory email by the EIC and will be asked to send a headshot of yourself. If you accept the opportunity, your work will be published on our website!  

 

Q: How do I join Art-emis's editorial team? 

A: Fill out the application form here! You will be contacted by Samantha Szumloz shortly after you apply!

Q: Can I submit to Art-emis as an editorial board member? 

A: Yes, but you will not be able to partake in the voting process of your piece(s) (for obvious reasons).
